NSW Government Website Style Directive

A Style Directive on creating consistent and user-friendly NSW Government websites.

Creating a consistent and user-friendly experience for visitors to Government websites by standardising key elements and making NSW Government websites instantly recognisable.

The NSW Government is committed to providing individuals, businesses and other agencies with easy-to-find information about the NSW Government and the services it offers.

The NSW Government Website Style Directive was developed by the Customer Interface Management Reference Group to provide a framework that will allow visitors to easily identify NSW Government websites. The Style Directive is intended to create a consistent and user-friendly experience by standardising key elements to assist the public to easily obtaining information they need fast.

The Style Directive is supported by a set of templates and guidelines designed to assist agencies in developing their website policies and implementing its recommendations for navigation and positioning of features and common content across NSW Government websites.

Using the Style Directive

If you need guidance on using the Style Directive, the Style Directive Guidance area aims to provide you with more information and tools to help you in apply the Style Directive to your website.

Reporting Compliance

NSW Government agencies were required to report compliance with the Style Directive by 30th June 2007. The Style Directive Compliance area outlines agencies' compliance obligations.
